Rise Café - City Rescue Mission
City Rescue Mission provides a beacon of hope for individuals who are experiencing homelessness. TAP was approached by Erin Goodin, President/CEO, to assist in developing a café concept located across the street from their main campus on the corner of Shartel and Reno. Rise Café will not only serve the OKC community, but will also provide additional job training opportunities for individuals seeking assistance through City Rescue Mission.
The interior finishes were carefully curated to create a welcoming and vibrant environment for employees as well as the café patrons. The warm brass decorative light fixtures, wood tones, and existing exposed interior brick walls introduce a warm textural element. The decorative tile at the face of the service counter, symbolizing the sun rise and new beginnings, bring hope and healing for those entering the space. New large format terrazzo hexagon floor tile will be installed providing a modern twist to architectural forms and materiality typically seen during the time period the building was initially constructed. Upholstery with different patterns, textures, and bright colors introduce an energy that is undeniably filled with joy.
The Rise Café is scheduled to open mid- November. We can’t wait to see the positive impact Rise Café will have on our community!
